As the AML & Fraud Risk Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing Skydo’s AI-driven risk intelligence architecture across onboarding, transaction monitoring, fraud detection, chargebacks and collections.

What you will do:

  • Merchant Fraud Risk Strategy :

  1. Define end-to-end merchant fraud risk strategy across onboarding, payment authorisation, settlements, and refunds
  2. Develop risk segmentation models and merchant-level risk bands (low/medium/high) using behavioural and transactional insights
  3. Establish frameworks for synthetic merchant detection, mule network identification, money laundering, and misuse of legitimate accounts
  4. Continuously refine Skydo's risk appetite framework for merchant fraud exposure
  5. Build AI/ML models for onboarding risk scoring/early fraud detection, predictive transaction risk (network graph analysis, behavioural clustering), fraud typology prediction (first-party, third-party, CNP, ATO, synthetic merchant), and chargeback/refund abuse prediction

  • Reporting and Collaboration :

  1. Translate model outputs into real-time decisioning rules and integrate with Skydo's fraud detection engine
  2. Partner with Product and Engineering to embed adaptive fraud controls in onboarding and transaction flows
  3. Build mechanisms to identify, classify, and monitor fraud patterns across the lifecycle (first-party, third-party, CNP, ATO, synthetic identities)
  4. Define feedback loops from case outcomes to continuously train and improve model performance
  5. Collaborate with external data vendors and API partners to enhance risk visibility

You’re a good fit if you have:

  • Quantitative academic background (Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Data Science) from a Tier-1 institute (IITs/NITs/DTU/BITS)
  • 3–5 years of experience in fraud risk, AML, or data-driven risk management in fintech, banking, or payments.
  • Analytical thinker with high curiosity and data orientation.
  • Balances business enablement with risk control rigour.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, startup environments with extreme ownership.
The mindset we’re seeking:

1. We're looking for someone with a builder's mindset—someone who enjoys solving complex risk problems, takes ownership, and can balance business growth with effective risk controls.
